  1. When looking at the description and picture on this item I didn’t see that it came with a chest strap. I thought it would work with only the wrist monitor. I already have two other models that have chest strap that you have to moisten, put under your shirt so you can see your heart rate on the wrist monitor. The chest strat is uncomfortable and a hassel to put on.

If I would have known I was buying the same thing I would not have ordered. They should put a picture of the strap with the wrist monitor so a person would know what they are buying. I am disappointed with Amazon. They are usually much better at showing what we are buying.

  2. I bought this watch for my grandfather. He likes the large numerals and the lack of confusing buttons. The built in light comes handy from time to time. I found a safe place for the instruction manual. It is a necessary read before setting the time and date.

I didn’t tell him, but I tossed out the heart monitoring accessories. Rating: 4 / 5

  3. out of the box it kept time and date (I have a watch for that) but when it came to heart rate monitor – DID NOT WORK. pretty disappointing. Returned immediately for something of better quality. Rating: 1 / 5

  4. I wanted to try a heart rate monitor watch and decided to buy the least expensive model I could find that also had good reviews. I’m very satisfied with my choice.

I’ve had zero problems. It’s easy to set up and easy to use. I really like that it will sync up with the cardio machines at the gym as well. (Once it’s up and running, the machines automatically pick up the signal. You don’t have to do anything.)

This watch doesn’t have a lot of special features, but if you just want a basic heart rate monitor watch at a competitive price, I highly recommend this model. Rating: 5 / 5

  5. I have been using the heart rate monitor at my local Planet Fitness and seems to be working great. Picks up my heart rate on all their equipment without any trouble at all. The chest band is comfortable once properly adjusted. This monitor should last a long time as you can just install a new battery when the old one dies. The watch band is plastic and comfortable on the wrist. If your looking for a plain old heart rate monitor to make sure your in the zone then Timex is your answer. I would buy another one if this one went bad. Rating: 4 / 5
